hanfod.NL event – June 10-11, 2021

Supported by the Networked Learning Conference Consortium, we are proud that hanfod.NL’s first Networked Learning & Phenomenology Event (#hNL21) was to take place in Cardiff in Wales. In January we decided to move the event online only due to ongoing uncertainty caused by the pandemic. We also agreed that an online only event was eminently viable, given what we, as a global community, have ‘networked learned‘ about networked learning during the pandemic.

Hosted by Dr Mike Johnson & Felicity Healey-Benson, we look forward to welcoming you in 2021. We are delighted that two wonderful people have agreed to facilitate key parts of the event:

Find out more in the pages of this Website. Please join us to help define and shape phenomenology’s place and contribution to networked learning. Maybe start by following our blog to get email updates.

At hanfod.NL (hanfod is Welsh for ‘essence’, pron. han-vod), we hope to seed a vibrant community of phenomenological enquiry within the broad context that is networked learning.

“Neither phenomenology nor swimming can be learnt in a purely vicarious way. ‘We shall never learn what “is called” swimming … or what it “calls for,” by reading a treatise on swimming. Only the leap into the river tells us what is called swimming’ (Heidegger, 1968: 21)(Quay, 2016: 486).
